Autism traits self-check for adults
An online autism test cannot diagnose autism. This private educational self-check helps adults reflect on social communication, sensory experiences, routines, focused interests, masking, and daily-life impact. Answers stay in your browser. Results identify experiences you may want to discuss with a qualified autism evaluator, not whether you are or are not autistic.

What can an adult autism self-check tell you?
A self-check can help you notice patterns and put experiences into words. It cannot determine why those patterns occur. Autism is developmental, and a comprehensive evaluation considers early history, present functioning, strengths, support needs, context, clinical observation, and information from other people when appropriate and permitted.
Autism traits and overlapping experiences
Similar experiences can occur for different reasons, and a person may have more than one condition. A thoughtful evaluation may consider:
- ADHD and executive-function differences
- Social anxiety or other anxiety disorders
- Trauma-related responses
- OCD or strongly preferred routines
- Language, hearing, or communication differences
- Depression, burnout, sleep, or medical factors

Finding an adult autism evaluation in Texas
Ask whether the clinician performs comprehensive adult autism evaluations, has experience with later-identified adults and masking, explains fees and insurance before scheduling, and provides a written report when needed. LytePsych does not represent this self-check as formal diagnostic testing.

Can an online autism test diagnose autism?
No. Online tools can help organize observations, but autism diagnosis requires a comprehensive evaluation of developmental history, current experiences, functioning, and other possible explanations. This LytePsych self-check is educational and has not been validated as a diagnostic or screening instrument.
Is this the AQ-10, AQ, or RAADS-R?
No. This is an original LytePsych reflection tool. It does not reproduce, adapt, score, or claim equivalence to the AQ-10, Autism Spectrum Quotient, RAADS-R, or another proprietary or validated autism instrument.
What do the results mean?
Results show which experience areas you reported more or less often. They do not produce an autism probability, cutoff, diagnosis, or statement that autism is present or absent. Use them to identify examples and questions for a qualified evaluator.
Can ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or OCD overlap with autism traits?
Yes. Attention differences, social anxiety, trauma responses, OCD, language or hearing differences, and other experiences can overlap with parts of this self-check. Some people also have more than one condition. A clinician considers timing, context, development, and daily impact.
What is autistic masking?
Masking or camouflaging can include consciously monitoring expressions, rehearsing conversations, copying social behavior, or suppressing natural responses to meet expectations. People may mask for many reasons, and masking by itself does not establish an autism diagnosis.
Is this autism self-check private?
Yes. Responses and domain calculations stay in the current browser session. LytePsych does not send item answers, domain results, free text, or a diagnosis inference to its servers or analytics.
Does Lyte Psychiatry provide formal adult autism testing?
This page does not represent Lyte Psychiatry as an autism diagnostic-testing service. Availability depends on clinician qualifications and service scope. Texas residents should confirm that a prospective evaluator performs comprehensive adult autism evaluations before scheduling.
How can I prepare for an adult autism evaluation?
Write down current examples, early-life patterns, sensory experiences, routines, focused interests, communication differences, masking, and daily impact. If comfortable, gather school records or observations from someone who knew you earlier. Ask the evaluator what information is useful.
Methodology, review, and sources
LytePsych created these questions as an educational reflection framework across six experience areas. The tool intentionally has no diagnostic total, validated cutoff, or claim of equivalence to a published autism instrument. LytePsych’s publication process includes clinical review of the framing and limitations plus a clean-room rights review before release.
