Follow the counseling intake through to confirmation
ACU’s Counseling Center offers an online intake route through myACU and an in-office intake option. The center describes review of the intake by its director before a therapist is assigned, with subsequent appointments arranged through the therapist.
After submitting the intake, check the contact method the center asks you to use. If a confirmation does not arrive, contact the office to ask whether the form was received and what remains outstanding. A submitted intake is a request, not proof that a particular time is reserved.

Use the medical clinic for the medical question
ACU’s Medical Clinic page separately describes psychiatric services and a patient portal for appointments. If you already have a prescribing clinician, ask the clinic which assessment and record-transfer steps apply before assuming it will take over that care.
Describe the administrative situation: a new request, an existing clinician back home or a move away from Abilene. Ask whom to contact about current treatment while an evaluation is being arranged. A public service description cannot confirm a prescription, a transfer decision or a new-patient opening.

Check the direction and method of the records release
The Medical Clinic publishes a signed authorization process and says it does not process records authorizations received by email. Use the current form and verify its accepted submission method with the clinic.
For records coming from a previous practice, ask the receiving team what it needs. For records leaving ACU, confirm the recipient and requested material before submitting the authorization. Keep the request date and the receiving office’s confirmation together; sending a form does not establish that the records arrived.
- Which office currently holds the records?
- Who is the intended recipient, and has that office provided a verified destination?
- What date range or specific records are needed?
- Who will follow up if receipt is not confirmed?

Confirm the clinic’s billing and calendar separately
ACU’s Medical Clinic states that it does not bill insurance. Its page also lists separate service charges and notes that some costs and hours may change. Ask for the current cost of the exact appointment you are considering.
The Counseling Center publishes different summer hours from its regular schedule. Before a break, confirm your appointment and contact arrangements with the relevant office. Do not extend a campus fee, payment method or service arrangement to Lyte or another outside practice.

Ask SOAR for help connecting the practical pieces
ACU’s SOAR program connects students with campus resources and accepts self-recommendations. Its process includes contacting the student, discussing the situation, identifying a resource and following up. It can be useful when the difficulty is knowing where to begin or navigating a practical obstacle.
Explain what has already been attempted and which step remains blocked. For example, distinguish trouble reaching an office from uncertainty about payment or a separate academic concern. Ask who will help with the next action. SOAR is a resource-connection route; clinical decisions remain with the appropriate healthcare professional.
Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
