How Billing Works at Lyte Psychiatry

1

We Verify Your Insurance

Before your first appointment, our billing team confirms your coverage, copay, and deductible — so there are no surprises.

2

You See Your Provider

Attend your telehealth or in-person visit. Our board-certified psychiatrists and PMHNPs focus on your care — billing is handled separately.

3

We Bill Your Insurer

We submit the claim directly to your insurance. You pay only your copay or remaining deductible.

Your Rights Under the Mental Health Parity Act

Under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act (MHPAEA), insurers — including BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Aetna, and Ambetter — must cover psychiatric and therapy services at the same level as medical care. They cannot charge higher copays or impose stricter visit limits for mental health than for physical health. If your plan is violating parity, file a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance.
