Medication refill requests
Lyte Psychiatry processes routine refills within 48 hours during clinic hours. Request when you have about a week left — not on your last pill.
How do I send a refill request?
Send your refill request through the Lyte Psychiatry client portal or by calling the front desk. Include the medication, dose, days remaining and pharmacy.
What happens after I request a refill?
Your Lyte Psychiatry prescriber checks the chart — last visit, labs where relevant, and whether anything has changed. Routine requests: within 48 hours.
How does the refill reach my pharmacy?
Approved Lyte Psychiatry refills are sent electronically to your pharmacy. You will be contacted if a visit is needed first, or if the request needs a conversation.
How are controlled-substance refills different?
Lyte Psychiatry requires at least monthly follow-up for controlled-medication prescribing as a clinic policy. This is not a statement that federal law sets a monthly visit interval.
Refill rules vary by medication and prescription schedule. Your prescriber will tell you whether a new prescription, review or visit is needed. Contact the clinic before you run out; a refill request does not guarantee approval.
Contact Lyte Psychiatry to confirm availability before booking ADHD evaluation or treatment. ADHD educational resources remain available.
What should a refill request include?
A complete Lyte Psychiatry refill request lists the medication, dose, days remaining and pharmacy. Fill this in to format a request you can paste straight into a portal message, or read to the front desk. Go straight to the portal ↗
Refill questions
How long does a refill take?
Lyte Psychiatry processes routine refill requests within 48 hours during clinic hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT). A request sent late on Friday is handled the following week, so give yourself a buffer.
How much notice should I give?
Request when you have about a week of medication left. That absorbs a pharmacy stock problem, a prior authorisation, or a holiday without you missing doses.
What is different about controlled substances?
Lyte Psychiatry requires at least monthly follow-up for controlled-medication prescribing as a clinic policy. Rules differ by medication and prescription schedule. Ask your prescriber when a new prescription or visit is needed; approval is not automatic.
Can I get a refill if I have missed appointments?
A short bridging supply is sometimes possible while you get back on the schedule, at the prescriber's discretion, and it is not automatic. Prescribing without seeing you is not safe indefinitely. Book an appointment at the same time you make the request.
Can I email or text my refill request?
No. Email and text are not secure channels for health information. Send the request through the portal, or call the front desk. The builder on this page formats the request in your browser so you can paste it into a portal message.
My pharmacy says they have not received it
Check the pharmacy name and location on file first — a chain with several branches nearby is the usual culprit. If it has been more than two business days since we confirmed sending it, call us and we will re-transmit.
I am out of medication right now
Call the clinic rather than sending a message. Stopping some psychiatric medications abruptly causes withdrawal effects and, for some, a return of symptoms. If you cannot reach us and you are unwell, contact your pharmacy about an emergency supply or seek urgent care. Call or text 988 if you are in crisis.
Questions the portal cannot answer? Call Lyte Psychiatry at 469-733-0848 during clinic hours. In a crisis, call or text 988; in an emergency, call 911.
