Start with your college’s counseling contact
The district mental health page lists counseling contacts for Northeast Lakeview, Northwest Vista, Palo Alto, St. Philip’s and San Antonio College. It describes counseling through the colleges’ Advocacy Centers and provides an eligibility overview for currently enrolled students.
Use the contact for your college to ask about the appropriate intake and appointment format. If you take courses at more than one Alamo college, explain that when asking where to start. Keep the office name on your appointment notes. This prevents a message intended for an Advocacy Center counselor from being confused with a clinic appointment or a request inside an outside app.
Check Wellness 360 separately
The district identifies Wellness 360 clinics at San Antonio College and Palo Alto College as a psychiatric care route available to students from any Alamo college. Its clinic page asks students to have their Banner ID ready when verifying eligibility.
Before choosing a visit, ask the clinic about the appointment type, location, intake documents and cost for your situation. If you plan to use insurance, verify the exact plan and service with the clinic and insurer. A low starting price on a public page does not tell you your personal charge. Tell the scheduler if the request concerns an existing outside clinician so they can explain the appropriate records process.

Complete the counseling referral step for TimelyCare psychiatry
Alamo’s mental health page says students seeking psychiatric support through TimelyCare first need a referral from an Alamo Colleges District counselor or a TimelyCare counselor. Merely registering in the app is therefore not the same as completing that pathway.
Ask the counselor how the referral will be delivered, where you will see the next instruction and whether you need to initiate another request. Save the program’s confirmation without assuming a particular clinician or appointment date. If nothing appears, follow up with the program that issued the referral and identify the step you completed. This makes the question easier to resolve than submitting unrelated new requests.
Track the program that owns each task
The district presents virtual options through its counseling services, Wellness 360 and TimelyCare. Each route still needs its own scheduling and eligibility confirmation. Ask the chosen service where you may physically be for the appointment if you expect to travel.
If you change programs, make a handoff list: the last scheduled visit, the next office contacted, records requested and any unanswered billing question. Ask each office how to share records appropriately. A referral may help identify the next service, but you still need to confirm that its intake has been completed. For registration changes or a semester gap, ask the college which services remain available to your status.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Confirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Must I attend SAC or Palo Alto to ask about Wellness 360?
The district states that Wellness 360 services are available to students attending any Alamo college, although its clinics are at SAC and Palo Alto. Ask the clinic to verify your individual eligibility using your Banner ID.

Can I skip the referral and book TimelyCare psychiatry directly?
The district’s published route calls for an Alamo Colleges District or TimelyCare counselor referral first. Ask that counselor how to complete the referral and which follow-up action belongs to you.
