Give SWC your exact school or training role
SWC’s appointment and FAQ pages do not use identical eligibility lists. The appointment page includes Public Health and students on leave; the FAQ also discusses visiting medical students and specified postdoctoral roles.
If your role or status is unclear, ask SWC to confirm eligibility for you rather than treating an omission from one list as a decision. State your school or program, whether you are a visiting student or trainee and whether you are on leave. Ask which office should handle your request if the student service is not the right route.

Call SWC and prepare the information it requests
The appointments page directs students to schedule with SWC by phone and have insurance information available. The FAQ says an initial consultation does not require a referral.
Use the number on the official appointments page. Have your plan details nearby, but ask the office how it wants any documents delivered. Tell staff if you have attended previously in the academic year, and confirm what kind of visit they are arranging. Write down the date, format and any intake instructions so the scheduling conversation leaves you with a usable next step.

Separate the initial assessment from later financial questions
SWC describes one no-charge first visit per academic year. Its FAQ explains that charges for subsequent services depend on the student’s plan and that staff can help clarify cost sharing.
Ask whether the visit being booked is the initial assessment and what financial information applies after it. If the office identifies a service for later care, request the details needed to verify that service with your plan. Record who answered the question and what remains unresolved. A statement about the initial visit should not be carried forward as an estimate for every later appointment.

Confirm the responsible office before the next step
After speaking with SWC, make a short plan for the administrative tasks still open. Useful items include eligibility confirmation, assigned intake documents and the contact responsible for arranging another appointment.
If you already have a clinician, tell SWC and ask what information would be useful for the consultation. Confirm the permission and delivery process before sending records. For any separately arranged service, ask who will contact whom and how you will know the appointment is booked. These questions help you keep a campus consultation, a records request and another practice’s intake from becoming one ambiguous task.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Do I need a referral before requesting the first SWC consultation?
SWC’s FAQ says no referral is needed for the initial consultation. You still need to arrange the visit through the office and confirm that your role is eligible.

What if my school or trainee role appears on only one SWC page?
Contact SWC with your exact status. Its public lists differ, so the office should resolve the eligibility question before you rely on a particular route.
