Give the office your campus and actual appointment location
Tarleton’s appointment page says enrolled students may seek services but that availability varies by location. It specifically distinguishes Stephenville, Fort Worth and online students, Waco students and other satellite locations.
When contacting the service, state both your enrollment location and where you will be during the visit. If the two differ, ask which route applies. A campus name on your enrollment record does not answer the separate question of where a clinician can see you.
- My Tarleton campus or online program.
- The city and state where I expect to be during the visit.
- Whether I am requesting in-person counseling, a virtual visit or help with a referral.
- Any coming move or break that will change those details.

Check the campus-specific direction before travelling
The appointment page directs Fort Worth and online students in Texas to contact the office about online counseling. It directs Waco students to the MCC Student Counseling Center for information about in-person services and points other satellite students toward TELUS support.
Use those official directions to choose the office to contact, then confirm the appointment process and destination. Do not travel to a different campus because a general search result lists counseling there. Ask what to do if your location or requested service does not fit the published route.

Separate Tarleton telehealth from TELUS
Tarleton says virtual care provided by its own counseling office is limited to students physically in Texas. It directs students outside Texas to the TELUS Health Student Support option. That referral is a starting point for checking the service available where you are, not a guarantee that every type of clinical care is portable.
Tarleton’s TELUS page describes phone and chat support, a resource library and short-term telehealth counseling. Choose the service you actually need, and confirm location and scheduling requirements before relying on it for continuing care.

Ask what happens after brief counseling
Student Counseling Services describes a short-term, solution-focused model and referral or coordination when specialized or more intensive care is needed. If you are given a referral, ask which need the outside service is meant to address.
Contact the receiving office about its intake, charges, insurance verification and requested records. Keep a log of responses and return to the campus team if the options are unavailable or unsuitable. A referral does not establish a booked appointment or transfer responsibility for medication questions.
Use the right contact for scheduling changes
Tarleton’s counseling homepage says email is not the scheduling or emergency channel. Use its published phone contact for appointment arrangements and check the current cancellation policy when a work shift, class or travel plan changes.
End the call with a short confirmation: the service, visit format, appointment location, time and next contact. For medication questions, ask the current prescribing clinician or the medical service evaluating the request. University counseling access and TELUS support do not establish prescribing care or insurance coverage at Lyte.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Confirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Can I keep a Tarleton-office video visit while outside Texas?
Tarleton’s appointment page limits its own virtual counseling to students physically in Texas and directs those outside Texas to TELUS. Confirm the available service and location requirements before travelling.

Should Waco and Stephenville students use identical instructions?
No. Tarleton publishes location-specific directions, including an MCC route for Waco in-person counseling information. Use the official appointment page and confirm the relevant office before travelling.
