Use Wellness 360 for the campus assessment route
UTSA’s Wellness 360 page describes short-term individual counseling, groups and psychiatry. It directs first-time counseling users to book a triage appointment through MyHealth or contact the service for appointment instructions.
Before booking, say whether you are new to care, already working with a clinician or looking for help with a referral. Ask which appointment type applies and what paperwork belongs in the campus portal. A screening result is not a completed clinical assessment or confirmation of a treatment plan.
Distinguish on-demand support from scheduled care
UTSA’s TimelyCare information separates TalkNow emotional support, scheduled counseling, coaching, basic-needs help and psychiatry. Psychiatry is available through referral. A service described as accessible around the clock should not be read as a promise of an immediate appointment for every type of care.
Use the university’s official access instructions and your UTSA email. If you need psychiatry, ask how a referral is arranged and how you will know it is complete. If you need ongoing counseling, check the current visit allowance and appointment options instead of assuming the on-demand and scheduled services work alike.

Check which system holds your next action
A campus MyHealth appointment and a TimelyCare appointment are separate scheduling tasks. Write down the service, portal and next action together so that a submitted form is not mistaken for a booked visit.
Before the appointment, verify its date, format, location and required paperwork in the service that actually scheduled it. If a referral involves another office, ask how the receiving clinician gets relevant information and how you should confirm that the transfer is complete.
- Service I contacted and official access route.
- Appointment or referral requested, with the date of the request.
- Confirmation received, or the person to contact if it is missing.
- Documents requested and the approved destination for them.

Check the plan for a break, move or enrollment change
UTSA advertises TimelyCare access during breaks and after hours. That campus statement does not confirm that a particular clinician can see you in every location or that eligibility continues after every enrollment change.
Before travelling, state where you will physically be and ask about the specific service you use. If graduation or a leave is approaching, confirm your final eligibility date and a next contact. Ask your current clinician about treatment-related questions rather than relying on a public guide to decide them.

Confirm an outside option on its own terms
If campus staff recommend community care, ask what need the referral is intended to meet. Contact the outside office to verify the service, new-patient process, fees and any insurance participation. Ask which records are needed and who will send them with appropriate authorization.
Keep the campus team informed if the first options are unavailable or unsuitable. A referral list is not a reservation, and a university benefit does not establish payment at Lyte or another outside practice. The plan is complete when you know the next responsible contact and what remains to be done.

Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Confirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Does 24/7 TimelyCare access mean I can immediately see a psychiatrist?
No. UTSA distinguishes on-demand emotional support from appointment-based services and states that psychiatry uses a referral route. Confirm the required referral and appointment steps for your situation.

Which portal should I use to check in?
Use the system for the service that scheduled the visit. UTSA publishes MyHealth instructions for campus counseling and separate TimelyCare access instructions; confirm the platform in your appointment message.
