Use the QR request or contact Counseling Services directly
Wayland’s counseling page shows an appointment-request QR code. It also directs students to call 806-291-3764 and speak with a Student Life Specialist, or email the counseling director.
Choose the route you can use reliably and explain that you want to arrange counseling. If the QR code cannot be scanned, use the published phone or email contact for help. State any constraint that affects attendance, such as your class location or limited time in Plainview. Check the office’s reply for the actual visit details. A submitted inquiry should remain on your task list until you know the next step.
Ask for the current Medicat entry point if it is missing
The page describes Medicat self-scheduling but contains a placeholder for an updated booking link.
Ask Counseling Services how to reach the current portal before trying a guessed address or a similarly named portal belonging to another college. Explain whether you need help finding the link, signing in or understanding the appointment choices. Staff can answer the relevant access question without you sending the same inquiry through multiple unrelated forms. After access is resolved, confirm the appointment purpose and any preparation requested by the office.
Distinguish advice for you from outreach to someone else
Wayland lists an appointment for guidance about approaching a friend or colleague separately from a request for university outreach. It gives the counseling director’s contact for the outreach request.
Name the action you are asking for. If you want help preparing a conversation, say that you want guidance for yourself. If you want the university to contact another person, explain that request accurately rather than presenting it as a counseling appointment the person has already agreed to attend. Ask staff what information is appropriate and what follow-up you should expect. Keep the response tied to the request you actually made.
Clarify the next contact when outside care is suggested
The university describes counselor assistance with a transition plan when a student needs care outside Counseling Services.
Ask which service the next office should provide and whether you need to make the first call. Write down any records or permission steps and check the receiving provider’s appointment requirements and charges directly. If the suggested option does not fit your location or schedule, tell the university counselor what prevented you from using it. When you already have a clinician, ask how the proposed arrangement relates to that existing care before assuming responsibility has moved to another office.
Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
What if I cannot find Wayland’s Medicat booking link?
Use the counseling phone or email listed on the official page and ask for the current entry point. Explain which step is preventing you from arranging the visit.
Does asking for advice about a friend automatically request university outreach?
Clarify which action you want. Wayland presents consultation for the concerned person and outreach to the other individual as separate options.
