Request a counseling appointment and confirm its format
Wiley’s 2026–2028 Student Handbook lists counseling appointment requests by phone, email or a visit to the center. It also describes virtual counseling.
Use the handbook’s Counseling Center entry to make the request. Ask staff to confirm the date, format and arrival or connection instructions, since the service page and handbook display different hours. If you can attend only after classes, state that constraint when contacting the center. Keep the final confirmation so the chosen arrangement is clear even if you consulted more than one university page.

Leave time for the first-session paperwork
The Student Health, Counseling and Wellness page asks students to arrive about 15 minutes early for first-session paperwork. It describes intake as a discussion that may lead to campus services or an outside referral.
Before the visit, ask what you should complete or bring and whether the instructions differ for a virtual appointment. Prepare the questions you want answered about the next step. If another office is recommended, clarify the purpose of that contact and who will arrange it. Keep a note of any remaining intake requirement rather than assuming that receiving a provider’s name completes the handoff.

Contact the center if the appointment no longer works
Wiley’s service page asks students who cannot attend to contact the center at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.
Once you know about a conflict, use the center’s contact to explain which appointment needs changing. Ask whether you are canceling only or requesting another date, and wait for the new details before putting a replacement visit on your calendar. If the conflict concerns the format or location, name that issue. This gives staff a specific scheduling question to answer instead of leaving several possible arrangements open.

Track the separate Form M accessibility packet
The handbook directs accessibility requests to shcw@wileyc.edu and identifies four forms in Form M, including student disclosure, accommodation request, professional documentation and release materials. It asks for supporting professional documentation and prior-institution accommodation records, and says staff contact students after review.
Ask Accessibility and Accommodation Services which forms and current deadline apply to your term. Share the official professional-documentation instructions with the person completing that part; keep your own forms and outstanding items organized. Check that the office received the packet and ask what remains before the review can proceed. A counseling visit does not establish the status of this separate request. Use the office’s response to plan the next academic-access step.
Considering therapy or medication management at Lyte
Lyte provides therapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Ask which service and clinician fit your needs. A medication evaluation does not guarantee a prescription or continuation of a particular medication.
Lyte Psychiatry offers telehealth visits to patients who are physically located in Texas at the time of the visit. In-person appointments take place at Lyte’s Pantego clinic; this campus guide does not describe a Lyte office at the institution.
Coverage and costs depend on your specific plan, clinician, visit type and deductible. Confirm network status and expected costs before booking. A student plan, parent’s plan or campus referral does not by itself establish Lyte coverage.
Request a Lyte appointmentConfirm appointment format, availability and costs before booking. For questions, call 469-733-0848. Clinic hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Central Time. Weekend appointments are limited and offered case by case.
Send medical records and insurance details only through the practice’s approved secure intake process.
Questions before you arrange care
Do Wiley’s counseling intake papers replace its accessibility forms?
Track the accessibility packet separately with the designated office. Ask what is missing from that request even if you have already attended counseling.

Which published counseling hours should I rely on?
Ask the center to confirm the arrangement for your visit. The handbook and service page display different hours; keep the specific appointment confirmation and format instructions.
